MalleoLoc stabilizes the upper ankle joint with or without shoes. Its asymmetrical plastic frame lies lightly against the front of the lateral malleolus and the back of the medial malleolus. It is secured using a Velcro strap system around the foot and lower leg in the shape of a figure eight. This firm connection reliably stabilizes the upper ankle and counteracts any talar shifting. The orthosis therefore protects against further outward spraining and above all relieves the outer ligaments. It still allows for a natural heel-to-toe movement, as plantar flexion and dorsal extension are not restricted. Its plantar guide additionally stimulates the tibialis anterior muscles during movement. This positively influences the entire sensorimotor system and results in long-term stabilization, minimizing the risk of further injuries. The anatomically shaped plastic frame of the MalleoLoc is also suitable for use in acute care. If required, it can also be thermo-plastically reshaped. It is softly padded on the inside. The flat orthosis fits in sports shoes and comfortable shoes.
